Arctic Quest 1831.

One man & a folding kayak, alone, in the high arctic.

< Back to Expeditions index

In 2003 Dom Mee kayaked, solo, deep into the high arctic, during the worst ice conditions the locals had seen for 20 years, and reached the magnetic north pole — first discovered by Sir James Ross in 1831, the date from which the expedition takes its name. The following comprises expedition press releases and the updates that Dom transmitted back from the arctic.
