Using this resource
Full resolution of the images on the right are freely available for ligitimate media usage. However, because of our need to maintain some control over their distribution, they cannot be directly downloaded and need to be requested via the online form.
How to order images
Each of the image thumbnails gives the image name, the original image’s size in pixels, and a check box. Simply click the check box of those images that you require, fill in your details at the bottom of the form and hit the Send button. The Project Manager will receive your request and will forward the full-resolution images to you by email (so please make sure that the email address that you supply is valid).

Image size
These images have been taken in recent years at a variety of resolutions (varying according to digital camera technology at the time).
Click here to view a table showing how different pixel dimensions translate into printed image sizes at 300 ppi.
Digital cameras record images at 72 pixel per inch. However, since these images are being supplied for media usage, they have been adjusted (without resampling) to 300 pixels per inch the industry standard resolution for print use. The original size of the image (in pixels) is unchanged and there has been NO resampling (which would have the effect of degrading the image).
Format
All images are supplied in JPEG format, by virtue of its excellent compression qualities and cross-platform nature. Initial jpeg compression was applied by the camera itself. Any subsequent editing was carried out in Photoshop's native (and lossless) PSD format, thereby ensuring that no image data was lost during the editing process. The final step reapplied the JPEG format with parameters set to maximum image quality. In this manner we are confident that the final image is visually identical to the camera original.
IMPORTANT Further resaving in JPEG format is NOT recommended. If you need to perform further editing on any of these images, you should resave them in a lossless format such as PSD, TIFF or EPS. Resaving as a JPEG will degrade the image quality.
RGB mode &
colour profiles
All images are tagged with an 'Adobe RGB (1998)' colour profile and are supplied in RGB mode.
End users may need to convert to CMYK for print usage. We felt that supplying the image in its native RGB mode affords the end user some control over the RGB-CMYK conversion process.
